How to Make Banana Milkshake Hair Mask at Home? [DIY]

Hello Everyone!
How are you all? It is been very long since I posted anything on MABH. I missed you all like anything and I am finally back. :) Today, I am sharing with you all a super duper delicious eatable drinkable hair mask recipe made of fresh bananas and other kitchen available ingredients to serve your hair. I have been using this mask since 2 weeks and seeing greater results on my winter dry hair. It not only nourishes my hair, but also helps my hair turn soft and manageable when winter strips off all the moisture and leave my hair dry. The specialty of this milkshake hair mask is, you can have it for your tummy too :D Believe me, its delicious like anything when chilled. Shall we move on to the recipe now?

Things you will need:
  • 2-3 ripen bananas (Depending on the length and thickness of your hair)
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • A cup of milk
  • A teaspoon of sugarless milk powder (Optional)

How to Prepare DIY Banana Milkshake Hair Mask?:
Take a blender. Put in everything and blend until smooth :D Do you feel like drinking it right way? I felt like that too but spare some for your hair. Make the recipe thick but adding 2 tablespoons of milk at first; take out few scoops to use as your hair mask. Pour in more milk the remaining puree and shake it up to serve yourself :D Don't forget to add honey instead of honey to this recipe and however, milk powder can be skipped. It is for extra nourishment of hair and for some extra taste. Let us store it in the refrigerator and move on to apply the hair mask. Meanwhile, you icy cold banana milkshake would be ready!

How to Apply the Banana Milkshake Hair Mask?
  • Comb your hair and divide it into 4-5 sections.
  • Apply the banana hair mask using your hair brush or clean fingers.
  • Make sure to cover your entire scalp and hair ends with this DIY hair mask.
  • Wear a shower cap. Leave on the mask for 30 minutes to one hour and rinse thoroughly.

Banana Hair Mask Ingredient Benefits:

Banana: It hydrates hair and  makes it frizz free. Regular usage of banana in hair care helps in softening the hair by providing required moisture and nourishment.

Honey: Honey is a humectant which attracts moisture and thus it helps hair in may ways. It also consists of anti oxidants, vitamins and minerals which are essential for the hair health.

Milk: Proteins present in the milk help hair grow strong and shiny. This is why many hair care products contain milk as their key ingredient.

Milk Powder: It has the same benefits as milk. Adding milk powder to the recipe helps nourish dry hair better by providing extra rich moisture.

Tidbit: Make sure to rinse your hair well with fresh water to ensure the removal of mask residues. It's better if you use this hair mask on pre-rinsed hair and avoid using shampoo immediately after rinsing the mask from your hair as it may strip away the natural nourishment.

Now it is the time to have your chilled banana milk shake :D Enjoy!
Let this winter be a joyful winter. Keep updated for more winter nourishing recipes for your skin and hair.

4 Natural Skin Whitening Recipes with Lemon

Hello Beauties,
Today we are going to discuss about four skin lightening recipes with lemon juice those are very natural on our skin. There are several fairness creams, fairness lotions and fairness serums available in the market today. Many claims to be 'fully' herbal and natural too, but do you think they are natural 100%? Not at all. They would be containing some bases and preservatives to prevent them going bad but these 4 lemon DIY recipes I am going to mention in this post are fresh and moreover, they are natural on skin. Rather than saying these as 'skin whitening recipes' I would like to name these lemon DIYs as skin brightening face packs. Because there is nothing specially beautiful in just having a pale skin. Pale or dusky, tan or dark, if you have a clear, glowing and bright skin, that is beautiful! Find below the top three skin lightening ingredients from your home and make your skin glow naturally!

Skin Lightening Properties of Lemon

Believe it or not, citrus extracts contain great natural skin whitening properties. Lemon juice natural bleaches the skin and fastens the process of dark spot fading, thus giving you a fairer and brighter skin. If you find the lemon juice to be over acidic on your skin, go for sweet lime. Find below these 4 quick fairness recipes with lemon juice for different skin types.

Skin Lightening Lemon Face Pack for Normal Skin
Combine a teaspoon of lemon juice with a teaspoon of green gram powder and mix well. Add few drops of rose water to this thick mixture to make a creamy paste. There you're done with your own skin lightening lemon face pack! The green gram powder helps in removing the dead skin cells while the lemon juice work on natural skin lightening. Rose water is added here to calm down the skin.

Skin Lightening Lemon Face Pack for Dry Skin
Using lemon on dry skin is a tricky job. It might dry out your skin more if not used in a proper way with proper base. Combine a teaspoon of olive oil with a teaspoon of honey and put in few drops of fresh lime juice to it. After cleansing your face with a gentle facial clear, apply this thin pack evenly and massage for 2-3 minutes. Then leave on for 10-15 minutes before washing it off. The lemon natural brightens the skin and the olive oil helps in preventing skin's moisture loss. Honey is also an excellent natural ingredient to improve skin complexion.

Skin Lightening Lemon Face Pack for Oily Skin
Take a small bowl and add a teaspoon of fullers earth to it. Now pour 2 teaspoons of rose water diluted lemon juice to the fullers earth (In 2:1 ratio) and blend well to make a smooth paste. This face pack effectively cleanses the skin and removes excessive oil production to give you a fresh, bright and matte skin for a long time!

Skin Whitening Lemon Face Pack for Sensitive Skin
While handling lemon in DIY recipes, we should be more careful to use them on sensitive skin types. Lime juice usage may end up in breakouts if just applied directly on to the skin. Mix 1/2 a teaspoon of glycerin with 1/2 a teaspoon of carrot/apple juice. Now combine this liquid with 3-4 drops of lemon juice and your pure skin lightening lemon face pack for sensitive skin is ready. This face pack is comparatively thin but has a same effects on your skin as the other ones. Just layer it up on your clean face and wash away after 15 minutes.

Tidbit: After using your lemon face pack, moisturization is must in all skin types. Choose one recipe above which suits your skin type. Use these natural DIY skin lightening face packs for at least twice in a week to see visible results faster. These recipes also help in clearing out sun tan and dark patches with regular usage. Do not use them if your skin is allergic to lemon.

Remedy 1:

Cucumber Overnight Fairness Pack

If you think that no face pack can make your your skin fair then you are wrong. I have tried a home made paste which really worked. Just follow these simple steps and your skin will look more fairer and spot free.

Things required to make a paste are:
  • Cucumber
  • Rosewater
  • Glycerine

Firstly take out the cucumber juice by using mixer. Now add rosewater and glycerine in equal quantities to the cucumber juice. Make sure that the paste should neither be thin nor too thick. Now apply it over your face at night time before going to sleep.
In the morning, wash your face with clean water and pat dry. After some days you will see amazing change in the complexion of your skin and even the dark spots will lighten.

Tip: If you feel lazy making this everyday then you can make this paste for 3 days and you can keep it fridge and use it everyday.

Remedy 2:
Banana Glow Face Pack

To give instant glow to your face before going to a party or something, you can try a banana face pack. To make this pack you don't have to make any effort. You just have to peel banana and take out its pulp and crush it to make a smooth paste. You can make this paste using mixer as well. Now apply this banana paste on your face and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Later, remove it with clean water and pat dry.

Results? You will see that yourself. You will notice that your skin is glowing and you will feel a new softness and smoothness on your skin!
