REVIEW: Faces Go Chic Lipstick in Prairie Pink

The word "Prairie" takes me back to school, to the geography lessons where we studied about Prairie grasslands... Now I wasn't really strong in Geography (Maths was my fav subject #NerdAlert) and so I cannot say that the flashbacks that I get are happy and pleasant but after receiving this lippy from Faces, using it almost everyday to office for the past week, I can say that it has changed the way I feel about the word Prairie and yes in a good way :)

The Prairie Pink shade from Faces is almost somewhere between Pink and Coral and is a beautiful and a flattering shade for girls with lighter skintones. It has a satiny finish that stays on for almost 4 hours and then leaves behind a faint but a flattering stain. It doesn't feel dry at all and even though the weather has gotten really dry lately, I am comfortable wearing it without any lip balm underneath... Yup! That's a big deal for me especially int he winters :)

One thing that I really like about these lippies is that they don't have any fragrance! Ok maybe a very subtle odor and that too something like caramel but you can smell it only if you are really trying to! Otherwise, it's quite possible that you'll not notice it ;)

One con that bothers me about it is that it is not non-transferrable... But then at this price I am really nitpicking :P

Oooohhss and Aaahhhss!!!
1. Beautiful feminine shade
2. Very very pocket friendly
3. Even at this price there is nothing cheap about the lippy. The packaging is sturdy, the lipstick as such feels so smooth and glides beautifully on the lips.
4. There is almost negligible fragrance.
5. Is not drying at all.
6. Leaves a beautiful stain behind. I really love lippies and glosses that leave stains behind :)

Ouches!!!
1. It gets transferred easily

Price:
It costs INR 199/- *only*

Repurchase?
Oh definitely! I would be crazy not to! I am sooo trying out other shades from this range...

Would I Recommend?
If you are looking for budget lippies but do not want to compromise on the quality and quantity, then this sure is a must have for you! This is one range, you can actually buy all shades from...

REVIEW: Maybelline Colorsensational Jewels Lipstick in ♥ Pink Tourmaline ♥

Maybelline as a brand I feel is very tuned to India (though there is no excuse for launching the color tattoos and baby lips one year late) but the lippy shades and the eye palettes that it does launch in India are very flattering to our skin tones. In the same tune, they launched their Jewels Range just before the festivities started... Dussehra, Diwali and then the extravagant Indian Wedding season...

The lippy that I shall be talking about and hence reviewing today is Pink Tourmaline from the Colorsensational Jewels range. It is pink, it is frosted and it is festive! Now before you go away thinking to yourself "Ewww I don't wear frosted lippies that too in Pink", might I add that I myself never wear frosted lippies but this wonder here has made me see frosted lippies in a brand new light altogether :) It has an understated frost and it doesn't look OTT and definitely doesn't make you look like an actress from the 90s ;) If you know what I mean :P

It is a beautiful shade and super flattering. How does Maybelline come up with such shades is quite a riddle for me!

Like it's older colorsensational counterparts, this is also super moisturising, non-drying and very well pigmented... The packaging is super pretty and the quantity you get for the price is just so awesome and budget friendly :) It's staying power (on me) is almost 6 hours with 3 cups of coffee, 1 bowl of cornflakes and 4 bourbon biscuits... Yup I counted whatever I ate just for you guys ;)

Oooohhsss And Aaaahhhsss!!!
1. The shade is flattering to the core!
2. The packaging is beautiful
3. It has an understated frost, which isn't jarring or 90s.
4. It is super moisturising.
5. Doesn't dry my lips.
6. Good pigmentation.
7. Doesn't cause any irritation/itching/flaking
8. Pocket friendly price.

Ouches!!!
1. Nothing really except the fact that people wary of frosted lipstick shades might not find it very appealing!

Price
It costs INR 350/-

Repurchase?
I would definitely! Actually, I mught just try other shades from this range too ;)

Would I Recommend?
If you have a light or medium skin tone then you should surely go for it especially if you are looking for a festive Pink lip shade. Darker toned girls might find the shade a bit jarring on them.

REVIEW & LOTD: Colorbar True Gloss Lip Gloss in Natural Tan

You know how every one keeps chanting the term MLBB? Well for those who still find it to be akin to Heiroglyph, MLBB stands for My Lips But Better. Honestly? I have always been jealous of those who have found their MLBB shades and needless to say I have been on the lookout for it myself... But all in vain. I did come close to find my ML (My Lips) shade in MAC Taupe, but the BB (But Better) part is something that has been eluding since like ever! So imagine my surprise when I finally got myself Colorbar's True Gloss Lip Gloss in Natural Tan and found it to be my MLBB :D Oh yeah baby, I am now a proud owner of an MLBB lip gloss :)

It was out of sheer accident that I bought this. I had got myself the bright pink shade in Vintage Rose and since it turned out be one rocking product, I ventured into Beauty Center to get me some more shades in this range... Yup I bought a couple of more shades in Pinks and Oranges too. But when I saw this shade, a tiny little voice from inside of me pestered me to get this too ;) And boy! am I happy I listened to those little devil's voices? :P

Now Colorbar True Glosses as such are real revolutionary products that some in around 10 really vibrant shades. They have 2-3 shades in Pink, about 4 shades in Orange, 1 in Red and well 1 in neutral! They stay on for like ever. The gloss rubs off but it leaves behind a really bright stain on your lips that just don't go away even with meals, coffees and yup even apples in between. I wear it to office in the morning, have numerous cups of coffee, eat two apples, couple of cups of tea, sandwiches, biscuits and salads and yet when I am home in the evening, it is still there! Nice and bright!

This particular shade looks like I am wearing transparent gloss over a lip primer. It hides my pigmentation and gives a uniform and a very flatteringly natural tone to my lips with a bit of juicy glossy effect!

They are not sticky, have no fragrance, do not cause any irritation and come in no fuss glass tubes with a doe foot applicator and I am smitten.

2. No fragrance/flavor! I love that fact about it!

4. Does not cause any kind of irritation or allergies.
5. It comes with a doe-foot applicator that is like the most convenient to use for precise applications.
6. They contain no sparkle or glitter.
7. Out of this world pigmentation!

Ouches!!!
I really cannot think of any except that the silver lettering that says "Colorbar" on the glass tubes, gets scratched off easily!

It costs INR 495/-

Would I Recommend?

REVIEW: Colorbar Take Me As I Am Lip Color In "Flirtatious Pink"

In addition to the TBS fetish, I am also on a Colorbar roll and yup you will be getting to read a lot of Colorbar product reviews as well :) Today I bring to you ladies and gentlemen, Colorbar's Take Me As I Am Lip COlor in "Flirtatious Pink". Do not relegate it to being a "too bright a pink" and "it won't suit me" categories cause even though it is called flirtatious and we might mistake it for a bright hue of Pink, Colorbar has very thoughtfully made it a yellow pink that is sure to suit almost all Indian skintones :) Yay for that :D

Why did I buy it? I don't know... I was just loitering inside Beauty Center at Crawford Market when I realised that I needed to buy my Colorbar (Precision) Watreproof Liquid Eyeliner as I had already finished my third bottle when this little chubby thing caught my eye. The SA was more than happy to show me all the shades and very proudly said, it comes with its own sharpener. Believe it or not I was sold at that :P Dude a fat cute thing that almost looks like Clinique's Chubby lip balm pencils that comes with its own sharpener and you have a follower for life in me :P

Coming to how this pencil fares... Well 3 words for it... I  Love It... I truly do... It is just the perfect pink for office, running grocery errands, travel (by train and by flight... Now come on don't you dress differently when traveling by train than when traveling by air?), movie and well any other scenario you can think of :) It is so NOT DRYING... Rather it is super moisturising... Notice... I did not say hydrating... I said moisturising! Then it stays on for pretty long.. On me it stayed on for about 5-6 hours... Yup! How can you not get swayed by it?

REVIEW: MakeUpForEver Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in Shade 34

Nothing spells sophistication like a matte red lipstick (a la Marilyn Monroe?)... And nothing spells feminine and fragile like a pink lipstick... Raise hands if you agree :)

Today I am gonna be introducing you all to my all time favorite pink lippy that I got a couple of months of back and well I have been hooked. Ladies and gentlemen please put your hands together for MUFE Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in Shade 34. It is a creamy matte lipstick that glides on smoothly on your lips and gives full coverage. It is transfer resistant and well just doesn't budge the entire night. Even though it has a matte texture, it is not drying at all, rather it is quite hydrating. But I love it cause it is a beautiful shade of deep pink.

On the downside, it isn't really a unique shade. It can be duped rather easily, but quality wise it isn't second to anything.

2. Gives a full coverage to even pigmented lips
3. Transfer resistant

5. Does not cause reactions

Ouches!
1. Not a unique shade, quite easily dupable
2. On the expensive side
3. Not easily available in India

Price

Do I Recommend?
I do recommend this range of lipsticks, but if you are looking for a unique, non-dupable color then this isn't the shade for you. But quality wise they are awesome!

Maybelline Hooked On Pink and Inglot Lip Color Shade 33 are very close dupes (shade wise not quality wise)
