How to Use Johnson's Baby Lotion? [4 Different Ways]

Hello Everyone!
If you are wondering whether this post is meant for Johnson's baby lotion usage on babies, nope you're wrong. In this post, I am sharing with you all, the multiple uses of Johnson's baby lotion on skin; of on elders skin. For me, this is such a life saver product and I have been repurchasing this lotion again and again for past 2-3 years. There are two variants I guess, the one is the milk variant and the another one is plain (Which is baby pink in colour) I love both of them but has a little more craze on pink :P and its fragrance of course. Come let us check the 4 uses of Johnson's Baby Lotion on adult's skin.

Body Lotion
This is how I first used this Johnson's Baby Lotion on me! Once, when I was in train travel, I realized that I did not carry my body lotion and foot cream with me. That was winter too and I have no other choice than getting some small lotion pack from the nearest store. When I came across few affordable, small body lotions, this one caught my eye. I had also picked a Vaseline 24 hours total moisture cream but that was for my foot as it is heavy and rich :) This small bottle of Johnson's  baby lotion saved my body skin like anything. I just applied it over my arms, hands and body and this does the moisturizing job very well without leaving any sticky or greasy feel behind. My skin felt smooth, soft and baby soft with the lingering, pleasant baby smell :) There after, I even started using this lotion as my 'now and then' body lotion when my skin and senses scream for something pleasant and baby-sh.

Makeup Remover
Yes! It is a superb makeup remover and it effectively removes all the mild, waterproof makeup cosmetics from my skin. Though being mild, it does a very good job without disturbing the skin's natural moisture. I am not a 'everyday waterproof makeup' wearing person. If I am stepping out for a long outing, I would prefer water proof long wear eye and face makeup products but in case if I am getting out for some shopping, to a nearby store, products that come into my hand are light weighted and  those can be easily removed without a makeup remover. For that removing purpose, I use this Johnson's baby lotion. It removes all the traces of light makeup with the first swipe itself. It effectively removes eyeliner, eye shadows and such. Simple dab some lotion over your face using a soft cotton ball. Leave on for 30 seconds to one minutes and wipe off with a damp cloth! That's it you are all done.

Day Cream/Light Foundation
Foundation? Are you asking whether I am kidding? Nope. I have tried, tested this and sharing with you all :) It neither caused any side effects nor worked bad on my skin. Once when I was experimenting (I do it a lot people) to make my own day cream, or can be said as a light coverage foundation, I tried making my Lakme Rose Powder as a cream with rose water. I applied it onto my face and oh my god! It stretched out my normal-oily skin so bad and gave a ghost-like white caste finish :P Then I tried mixing a pea sized amount of Johnson's baby lotion with the same rose powder and voila! This DIY day cream blended out smoothly onto my facial skin and gave a light coverage which is perfect for nearby shopping visits. If applied plainly, Johnson's baby lotion gives a mild dewy look (Which turns my T Zone like an oil well within 2-3 hours) to my facial skin but when I tried mixing it with my loose powder, it gave a smooth matte finish, which is not at all flat or powdery. The finish was even, smooth and the texture of my skin looked so good really. However extra dry skins may not like this idea much but if you have a normal-oily skin type, this would suit you perfectly in monsoons and winters.

Hand & Elbow Cream
Not only as a body lotion, it serves great as my hand cream too. I am using it often as my hand cream, especially at nights before I go to bed. It help my palms stay baby soft and super smelling all the night :) It has even improved the shine on my nails and prevent them getting cracked due to dryness. For dry elbows and knees, this is one mild instant cure. Though it cannot help much in winters, it helps a bit to heal stubborn dryness and roughness on the knee parts. Moreover, you do not need to fear to put this lotion anywhere on your skin as it is specially formulated for babies.

And one more thing to say; something which is safe on baby's skin is hundred percent safe on yours! So don't ever hesitate to use baby lotions and other baby products on your skin :) Enjoy the baby-sh fragrance!

Have you used Johnson's Baby Lotion on your skin? How do you use it?

So let us start with women's favorite product, kajal. Many girls out there never step out of their home home without kajal in their eyes. No matter they are wearing foundation, concealer or bla bla but kajal is something which most of the girls cannot live without!

Kajals:

Faces Cosmetics Kajal
Price: Rs.99 for 3g
Quick Review: This kajal glides smoothly onto the water line and gives that blackest black finish with less smudging compared to the other kajals in the market. For this price, Face kajal is definitely a hit! It also contains almond oil which promotes eyelash hair growth.

Maybelline Colossal Kajal:
Price: Rs.150 for 0.35g
Quick Review: Is there anyone who doesn't know Maybelline Colossal Kajal here? This product is a huge hit among Indian women, especially for its long time smudge free quality. This is not a blackest black definitely but stays on eyelids for a long time compared to the other kajals. You need a good eyemakeup remover to remove this though.

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal:
Price: Rs.199
Quick Review: Doesn't it look like a competitor for Maybellin Colossal one? Of course yes and YES it wins the competition too. It has a better smudge free staying powder and 'smoothness' than the colossal one. It claims to stay on waterline for 10 hours. Whoa! This product is recently launched and has become a huge hit among all kajal lovers! Go grab one before Lakme increase the prize.

Eye Liners:

Avon Simply Pretty Waterproof Eyeliner
Price: Rs.90 for 7.5ml
Quick Review: I really don’t know why I have not seen any review on this product, this is the best-est-affordable eye liner I have used and I am using this for past 4years. It stays good for 5-6 hours (Stays even more time with light fading) without any fading and it is of course waterproof as per the claim.

Lakme Insta Liner Liquid Eyeliner
Price: Rs.70 for 9ml
Quick Review: This is one eyeliner which many eyeliner beginners swear by and this of course the first eyeliner of  many girls out there! This Lakme Insta Liner is easily available, very very affordable for the huge quantity and of course stays for a good time with less smearing. The only issue with this is the drying time. You need to sit under fan for 3-4 minutes to get it completely dried or else you might mess it up.

Foundations:-

Coloressence Aqua Makeup Base
Price: Rs.125 for 30ml
Quick Review: This makeup base is dirt cheaply priced and comes in 4 different shades for different skin tones. This gives medium to light coverage with an oil free matte finish which many of you oily skinned girls would expect :) A great buy and quantity for the price.

Lakme Face Magic Daily Wear Souffle
Price: Rs.99 for 30ml
Quick Review: This souffle comes in a really cute glass got with a screw lid :) It come in three shades namely Pearl, marble and shell. One needs to choose the perfect shade for their skin. 30ml for just Rs.99 if a dirt cheap price right? But this product absolutely works as a great daily foundation for 'foundation beginners' out there. Make sure to set it with your compact for a better staying time.

Lotus Herbals Pure Radiance Matte Glow Daily Foundation
Price: Rs.175 for 25ml
Quick Review: This is a wonderful light-coverage foundation for beginners which is not only water-based and oil-free, but also SPF 20 for sun protection. 25ml is decent quantity for the price too and hence this product is definitely a hit for foundation beginners.

Discuss with your trustworthy friends about your outfits and makeup. Read carefully, they should be trustworthy. If you choose a wrong person to suggest you, they might mislead you in jealously lol :P Okay no jokes. Ask your friends whether you look good in a jean or kurta, or something like that. Always go for minimal makeup. This will not only look natural, but also neat and professional if you're a working woman. Shift your glittery shimmery makeu products to your night /party makeup case. Choose the right shade of your foundation/concealer and always go for blushes and eyeshadow that would compliment your skin tone well. Can You Use Body Lotion On Your Face?

  • Can You Use Body Lotion On Your Face?
  • Body Lotion On Face - Would It Cause Any Side Effects?
  • Why Don't We Use Body Lotions on Face?
  • Extra Dry Facial Skin - Would Body Lotions Help?

We are frequently receiving these kinda query from our readers and the answer is simply NO! We are now going to discuss why one shouldn't use their body lotion on face and what ill effects it would cause. So if you have any idea of using your body moisturizer to moisturize your facial skin, then kill it. It is not that every body lotion would react bad on your facial skin; some might work well in fluke too but why should risk? Read below and know more on this.

Difference Between Facial Skin and Body Skin

Cell Turnover Rate of Skin:
Skin dryness and less environmental exposure (When compared to facial skin) causes slow skin turnover rate in body skin. Due to this, the natural exfoliation process slows down in body skin and thus it stays rougher and scalier than your facial skin. On the other hand, due to the sebaceous glands and excess sun exposure, the natural exfoliation process takes place faster and more frequently in your face skin when compared to the body skin. This makes your facial skin naturally more sensitive than your body skin.

Skin Thickness:
Our facial skin is usually 0.20mm thick whereas the body skin is 0.60mm thick. From this, obviously we can say that our facial skin is more sensitive when compared to our body skin.

Is It Okay to Use Body Lotion on Facial Skin?

As already said, the answer is No. Because of the differences in skin nature and thickness, usage of body lotion on more thin and more delicate facial skin is not that advisable. Body skin is usually drier than the facial skin and thus body lotions are specially formulated with heavy moisturizing ingredients that would lead to clogging of pores on the facial skin.

Is Body Lotion on Face Okay In case of Extremely Dry Skin?

Even though your body lotion is light in texture and your skin is extra dry, you shouldn't use it on your facial skin as some of the ingredients present in it might be allergic to your face. Not at first, you may also face facial breakouts and such with regular body lotion usage on face.
Have you ever noticed something on your body lotion? Most of the body lotions are more scented and coloured when compared to the light facial lotions and moisturizers. Don't you think that those artificial fragrances and colours would affect your super delicate and sensitive facial skin?
So it is better to avoid body moisturizers on your face anytime. Whatever skin type yours may be and however gentle those body lotions may be, do NOT use it on your facial skin without consulting with your dermatologist (There is very less chance that any dermatologist would recommend a body moisturizer for face)

Side Effects of Using Body Moisturizers on Face

So, Summing up the all the above factors, here is the list of facial skin problems you might experience if you use your body moisturizer on your face, instantly or may be with regular usage.
  • Acne breakouts
  • Clogging of pores
  • Redness
  • Itchy skin
  • Excess oil secretion
  • Greasy skin
  • Other allergies

Facial Moisturizer On Body - Is that Okay?

This is completely alright and this wouldn't surely give you any side effect because of the gentleness of the facial lotions. Hence, in case you run out of your regular body lotion, you can pour some facial lotion on your palm and smooth it over you body skin to provide it required moisturization. You can do this without any fear however you may need to reapply the facial lotion in short intervals to prevent dryness on your body skin!

P.S: For some, your body lotions may perfectly suit as your facial moisturizer but before continuing this, consult with your dermatologist once to ensure that it wouldn't cause any side effects or skin allergies in future.

Why Do You Lose Much Hair While Shampooing?

Today morning, one of our reader contacted us with a query 'Why do I lose so much hair when I shampoo?' This is something that we should think and research of to get the confusion out of our mind. We usually notice an extra hair loss while shampooing, oiling, combing and massing our hair. Right? Do you have any idea why this happens? Is it normal or abnormal to lose hair while shampooing? How much hair is normal to lose while shampooing? We can line up questions like these in our mind and finally, here comes the solution. In this post, we are going to discuss about the facts and truths on losing hair while shampooing. Go ahead and read below.

Do Not Panic! It is Natural Shedding

There is nothing to panic about the extra hair loss while shampooing as our hair naturally sheds everyday. If you are losing much hair while combing, shampooing are massaging, it means that you are losing hair strands those are about to shed ANYWAY. They are just in their resting phase (Telogen) and are about to come out of your scalp anyway. When you give pressure to your hair while applying hair oil, shampoo and such, these hair strands come out quickly but this doesn't means that your hair fall is caused due to shampoo, oil or anything. However, if you still doubt about it, you can make the processes more gentle to ensure you are not losing any healthy new hair by over pressure.

How Much Hair is Normal to Lose While Shampooing?

Not just shampooing, a person may lose up to 100 strands of hair everyday and this is completely normal. Your hair sheds throughout the day; while combing, while shampooing, while oiling, while massaging etc but we mistake that these things causes hair loss. Whatever you do, whatever you don't do, these hair strands WILL shed naturally. So throw out the fear of shampooing or oiling your hair. Cleansing and moisturizing your hair is very much important in your hair care routine hence one shouldn't feel any allergic about shampooing or oiling hair in the fear of hair loss. On the other hand, if you are losing more than 100 hair strands in a single day and if this continuous for a long period, then it is necessary to consult your physician.

Do Shampoos Cause Hair Loss?

No! Not all the shampoos cause hair loss in humans. If you are doubting about excess hair fall, then go for sulphate and paraben free shampoos. pH balancing and moisturizing ones would do the trick. There are many herbal shampoos claiming to be gentle available in the market. Consult your dermatologist and choose the one which suits you best. If you are a field worker or a busy bee, you compulsorily need to wash your hair at least twice a week with shampoo or any other hair cleanser in order to clear out the dirt, oiliness and bacteria accumulated.

Tidbit: Use a wide toothed comb to detangle and style your hair as this would reduce hair loss while combing. Make sure that you are gentle to your hair all the time whether you shampoo, oil, comb or style it and this will avoid accidentally and unwanted hair damages, especially when you are loving to achieve long and strong hair.
